Is claiming ownership of a city possible? If logically not, why, when we contribute so much to it, do we feel in that way? I was always complaining about the mess of Istanbul. The way they did not use their authority to control the design of the city made everything a total mess. This city claims to be a global one, yet I didn’t feel it at all. So, I wanted to document the city with many faces of it, with a global visual language of every kind of people interacting with it. Lights hit different, and colors changed according to the subject of the frame. Emotions should be clear and universal, faces should be a mark of unique cultures to create a face of a global city.
